Sif was the young daughter of a wealthy noble. She lived her life in
shadows of her three older brothers whom were always their father's
favorite.
Sif wanted adventure. She wanted to find her place in life and to
be known for more than what her father's wealth and influence. Being
the adventurous type, she set out to learn the skills of swordcraft
from any that would teach her. Her quick wits and physical ability
allowed her to learn the art to a high degree of proficiency.
Sif then decided to visit her family to show what improvement she's made
in her life. To her horror, she came back and found her brothers
ravaging the lands her father had once owned. Swearing a vow of
vengence, she went to train diligently to beat her evil, lazy brothers
and win the lands she would rule with grace.
Taking her knowledge, she went back to her family's lands disguising
herself. She then challenged her drunken brother to a challenge
of steel. She easily beat her brothers, taking the deed to the lands as
her prize. Then she revealed herself for who she really was, thus
shaming her brothers into leaving the the family lands in Sif's care.
Sif was then visited by her old mentor, a priest of the Sword named Kage
who had taught her everything she knew about swordplay and strategy.
Although Sif had rejected the service at the Temple of War, he knew that
she was the best swordfighter he had ever trained....he even knew it was
possible that the student had exceeded the master in this area. The
sword priest had come to tell Sif that a good King was uniting the lands
of Idellian under his rule. Kage explained that she should support
this King, because he was very wise and very good to the people..
Sif went to pledge her sword to the King. King Aedron Manchester
graciously accepted her offer and made her one of his top lieutenants.
She was a formidable warrior against the forces that opposed the King.
One day, Sif was out on patrol when her unit was attacked by great
Goblins riding fierce griffons. Sif suffered heavy casualties and was
wounded herself. Although her troops fought with ferocity equalling
that of a cornered feline, she knew she would lose this battle. She
then called upon the forces of fate to save her people, even if it cost
her her very life. The forces answered, bringing a strong wind to sweep
the airbourn Goblins away, thus preserving her troops.
From that day forward, Sif dedicated her life to the Philosophy of War.
She quickly rose in the ranks, becoming a powerful High Priestess within
the Temple.
Sif advises the King on all matters of War. She knows that not every
answer lies within hostilities, but that one should be prepared to fight
whenever called.
