Bjorn was born the son of a Rjuven couple. He was always facinated with
the world around him, and desired more than anything to travel and see
the world. He always wandered from the village, hunting the great
animals for food for his village.
One day changed his whole life. He returned home to see the smoking
remains of his village. He saw a party of ogres leaving the ruins
behind, carrying the slaughtered forms of animals and humans for food.
Bjorn ran to his home to find it burned to the ground. He searched in
vain for his parents within the ruined village. A spark of anger flared
within his young form. He vowed revenge on the ogres that had taken his
parents' lives.
So, a the rather young age of 14, Bjorn set out to find his fortune in
the world. He ranged across the desolate northern lands in search of
adventure. One fateful night, he found more than he bargained for.
As he passed over a hill, he noticed that a nearby village was being
attacked and pillaged by vicious ogres. Summoning the fire started by
the spark of anger he held for Ogres, he attacked them with reckless
abandon. He used all his survival training to fight the ogres,
drastically turning the tide of the battle in favor of the village.
As the remaining ogres wandered off licking their wounds, the chief of
the village came to thank Bjorn for his valor in saving the village.
The chief then offered to take Bjorn into his care.
Time passed and Bjorn grew into a tall, strong Rjurik. The village
chief treated him like a son and becaome very fond of him. One day, the
village chief became deathly ill and seemed unlikely to recover. He
called Bjorn to his bedside and beheld him for one last time.
"My time on this plane is short," the village chief began. "I have
always loved you as a son, Bjorn. You have the spark of life that makes
you a good leader for the people. I want you to become chief....and to
receive my power."
With that, the village shaman stepped forward and began a low chant,
invoking the power of the mystic forces.
Bjorn then left the side of the dead chief. He went to rule his people
with the power of the Blood that the chief had given him.
Bjorn advises the king upon any activity that happens in the north. He
is usually more interested in protecting his village from Ogre attacks
than any of the trappings of the court.
