Lots of talk about Champions Online on the blogs right now, so I wanted to point out a little something that might tickle that superhero fancy:

Zephyr: A webcomic in prose

Came across this as I was researching one of my own writing project. Another take on the "what if superheroes were real and not sanitized?" The writing is really good, and it keeps interested. I'd recommend focusing on the "Zephyr" stories right now. The "Joseph" stories are interesting in their own right, but they're mostly parallel to the main story and could be a bit confusing for some.

  1. Curses! That really does read well, though I've only read the first chapter. Like I need MORE reading material online! ;)

  2. Nice comic, thanks for the link :)

UK TV has a funny comedy about super heroes you might like. Check out the trailer here.

  3. Wereviking, the writer of Zephyr, mentioned this blog in his twitter feed. As it happens, there are a surprising number of decent superhero serials out there. I link to a number of them from my own blog (which, it must be noted, also contains a superhero serial).

I've enjoyed Zephyr, but also a number of stories by Eric Burns (of which I particularly recommend "Interviewing Leather"). Shimmer is also something I like a lot.

I've been happily surprised to find out that some very interesting possibilities open up when the whole thing is in prose and isn't controlled by a major comic book company.
