Yet another new MMO dev blog

Actually, it’s a resurfacing of an old blog. Experienced husband and wife developers Sandra ‘srand’ Powers and Eric Heimburg have set up a new site called Elder Game. They’ve worked at multiple companies, but might be best known for their work at Turbine.

Anyway, I got to meet both of them a few times, and I’ve always had wonderful conversations with them about game development. Therefore, I highly recommend watching the site for more insightful discussion.

You can read their introductory post for some more background. I think one of the reasons I really clicked with them is because they both started as programmers, then moved on to other fields just as I did. Eric went into design, and Sandra went into production. They have a pretty well-rounded view of game development, and recently decided to strike out on their own with a cute little casual game, Starcrossed. (Check out this review of the game.)

They’re also available for contract work, but you know who to talk to first. :)

  1. Hey, thanks for the linkage! We’re just getting started so there’s not much there yet, but our brainstormed list of articles is about three pages long. At our normal rate, I think we have topics for the next three years — so we may have to speed it up a bit. *grin*

I value your comment and think the discussions are the best part of this blog. However, there's this scourge called comment spam, so I choose to moderate comments rather than giving filthy spammers any advantage.

If this is your first comment, it will be held for moderation and therefore will not show up immediately. I will approve your comment when I can, usually within a day. Comments should eventually be approved if not spam. If your comment doesn't show up and it wasn't spam, send me an email as the spam catchers might have caught it by accident.
