Sometimes I don’t reciprocate

It’s a bit awkward to meet people at conferences and hear, “Oh, I read your blog all the time!” when I don’t reciprocate. The problem is that there’s a lot of really good blogs out there, but not enough time to read them all. I have a list of blogs I hit on a regular basis, but sometimes I don’t always get to the blogs that haven’t been in the spotlight for long.

So, sometimes it’s a bit awkward to smile and thank someone when I don’t return the courtesy of reading their fairly well-known blog (or listen to their podcast.)

For example, even though I’ve never met her at a conference, I didn’t find out that the “kind of a big deal” Amber Night was in a GU Comic until about a week afterwards. I had fallen behind on reading both her blog and the comic.

Anyway, I’m mostly posting this up so that the people who claim to read my blog will have to post “Do you mean me?” type responses so I can see if they really do read my blog. ;)

  1. I will write something about you on my blog within the next year. Check back frequently! Also, I missed you and Lum at AGDC, mostly because I didn’t go to it this year (boo) after having forgotten how much I totally hate you guys. XOXO – Ryan

  2. Do you mean me?

  3. Brian I just wanna say that you’re much sexier in person! I’m your biggest fan now.

  4. I meant to stop by at the conference just to say hi, but realized I had no idea what you looked like. I was told you were “just now” standing five feet away when I asked someone, but your teleport skill must have been recharged.

  5. I go weeks at a time without reading my own blog.

Ryan, that’s awesome. The subtle implication that there were additional factors – factors not entirely eclipsed by your being somewhere else – is intriguing…

  7. I suppose I should feel flattered that you read my blog. I think I’m actually more confused. But then again, I’ve never been able to figure out why people are in the least bit interested in what I type.

  8. You couldn’t be talking about me. I don’t read your blog. ;)

  9. LOL, I’m sure I’m on that list. (It was nice to talk with you again at AGDC, BTW… thank you.)

  10. I read your blog. Well…okay, I read your trackbacks… =P

  11. I talked about you on the podcast so much that it should be renamed to the Psychochild podcast. ok, I’m exaggerating, but if you’re not listening, you’re missing the rumors I’m spreading about you. :)
