The book is selling well!

I recently got some great news: Business & Legal Primer for Game Development has sold its initial print run of 2000 copies and there is a second print run in the works. This means the book has broken even (hooray!), so now the authors should earn royalties! Quite an accomplishment for everyone involved. It also means some of the errors will get fixed. :)

So, go buy your own copy and educate yourself!

Read on for a few more bits of good news related to the book.

If you’ve purchased a copy, go write an review if you would. We’ve already got two 5-star reviews, which is nice. :) But, more reviews are even better!

I also have some author’s copies of the book. I’ll probably come up with a contest sometime in the future to award some copies to readers of this blog. I’ll have to think about what kind of contest would be fun, interesting, and not completely against the law. :)

Have fun!

  2. Good to hear!

There is a new professor at my old law school who teaches a video game law class. I spoke with him a few weeks ago and he was ordering a copy of the book, so here’s hoping that he makes it required or suggested reading for the kids who take the class.

  3. I got my copy for Christmas (it was high on my Amazon wish list). I’ve only had time to skim it so far but I’m looking forward to jumping into it soon.

  4. I read the whole thing. . . and I now have a much better appreciation for what my management has gone through to get and keep Simutronics a wonderful company to work at these last 20 years or so.

    Excellent book.

  5. Round the Blogs…

[...] Brian Green, perhaps better known as Psychochild, posted some great news related to his recent collaboration/book, Business & Legal Primer for Game Development: it just went to it’s Second Printing. It is an excellent resource, I highly recommend it if you have any interest in the business end of any kind of software development company: I’ve seen more than a few topics and lists of bulletpoints that easily apply to my own company.
