Earlier this month Justin "Syp" Olivetti interviewed me for his Game Archaeologist column over at Massively. I went into some depth about my background as a developer, my experiences with Meridian 59, and even a bit about Storybricks.

  1. Oh there's the second part now. :) I read the first one few days ago, interesting read. I also liked the reference to the "soul-destroying corporate job", made me smile and sigh wistfully at the same time...

  2. Ah nice I read part 1 and part 2 felt into my big mess of unread posts while I was away so thanks for linking to it.

While the whole interview was interesting I can't help but to put some emphasis on this bit... sorry

"Games journalism" makes its money from advertising, so they tend to focus on stories that bring more hits. The practical effect is that the larger games simply get more coverage (and therefore get larger) while smaller games tend to get overlooked. For an indie, the hardest thing is to get any attention for your project. So it can be frustrating when you see headline news about some trivia from an established indie developer appearing on the same indie game blog that won't even answer your emails about your fledgling game.

Anyway for 2012 I wish to read you more often in interviews. It makes my RSS feed sucks less...
